LMH Health Inpatient Pharmacy

LMH Health sought MEP systems for a new USP 797-compliant pharmacy. This included integrating a new dedicated AHU specifically for the compounding pharmacy.

The compounding pharmacy at LMH Health was facing challenges. Not only was it out of compliance with the latest regulations, but it was also reliant on a large air handling unit that catered to three floors of the campus's west tower.

Having provided on-call consulting services to LMH Health for several years, 5BY5 was a natural choice for this project. Our in-depth knowledge of the campus, expertise in MEP engineering for hospitals, and strong relationship with LMH Health facilities positioned us as the ideal partner.

Our main objective was to design MEP systems for a new USP 797 compliant pharmacy. This included integrating a new dedicated AHU specifically for the compounding pharmacy.

The primary challenge was the spatial constraints, given the task of adding a new AHU and its ductwork in an area already packed with infrastructure. However, with the excellent coordination of the mechanical contractor, we were able to seamlessly overcome this challenge.

As of now, both the compounding pharmacy and the renovated general pharmacy have been fully operational since the summer of 2022. Since its inauguration, there have been zero operational issues reported, showcasing the effectiveness and efficiency of our services. 5BY5 continues to offer design and commissioning services for various projects at LMH Health, strengthening our bond further.
