Saint Luke's Health System (SLHS) was facing the challenge of transforming an unoccupied medical office space into a modern and functional oncology center and conference facility.

LMH Health faced a significant challenge with their Cancer Center, which had outgrown its space and was operating with outdated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.

Children’s Mercy Hospital’s ground floor HVAC systems were outdated, with controls and equipment that were difficult to maintain. The air changes were uncertain, and the system’s reliability was in question, creating significant concerns for maintaining air quality and infection control in a healthcare environment.

St. Luke’s East Hospital was seeking to expand their new Flex Care Facility in order to accommodate long-term and short-term stays, while also being an overflow space for the existing emergency department.

LMH Health sought MEP systems for a new USP 797-compliant pharmacy. This included integrating a new dedicated AHU specifically for the compounding pharmacy.

LMH Health engaged 5BY5 Engineers in replacing their existing AHU-7 with 2 units that can back-feed one another in the event of failure or maintenance shutdowns.

Children’s Mercy Hospital was looking for increased reliability, easier maintenance, and redundancy in the air distribution system serving their inpatient tower.

This new outpatient facility is developed to establish a presence on the west side of Lawrence Kansas and allows for the continued growth of Ortho Surgery as well as many other departments.
